Be a Milk Rock Star!
Beginning in 2008, this exciting promotion is the centerpiece of the Milk Rocks program. In a nutshell, it’s a cross between American Idol and You Tube, where kids upload their music and video clips to compete in a nationwide contest, with celebrity rock star judges. Finalists compete on a weekly basis via live webcasts with voting by the panel of judges and other students. Winners will receive a recording label contract and nationwide concert tour. This evergreen contest takes place each semester and crowns the lucky winner as a “Milk Rock Star”with all the attendant perks including a featured artist profile in the Milk Rockers section of the website right next to their own favorite rock and pop stars!
School Concerts
This promotion has two components: 1.) contests where students win a live concert by a major music artist for their school (plus backstage passes, artist meet & greets and other perks for themselves) 2.) ongoing Milk Rocks! tours by emerging artists that labels want to promote. All students who download fun stuff from MilkRocks.com earn entries for their school in the Win a Concert for Your School sweepstakes.
